I Survived The Bazaar

The bazaar was a great success. I figure after expenses, I made about $190 or so. I had fun visiting with everyone, and I also got a lot of response to the StampinUp' display, and had several people interested in booking a party. So all in all, I would call it a success.
Our grandaughter Amanda sat at the bazaar with me, and she was a big help, and a lot of fun to be with. THANKS AMANDA! *smooch*

Another Monday!

I can't believe another week has passed. Where did last week go?
Saturday I went to Billings with my friend Kathy. We had so much fun, and we were both so tired last night when we got home. We got a lot of Christmas shopping done though, plus we had a blast. We saw two movies, at Chinese, went through a mansion, had Krispy Kreme donuts (yummmmmmm) and just had a nearly perfect weekend. :)
I have to clean house this week and get ready for the bazaar, so it's going to be a busy week. I still have a small cell phone bag to finish and felt, and I still have to tag the bags. So I guess I had better get busy!

Just a thought.......

I am so disgusted by the world's concept of Christmas.
In the stores there is absolutely NOTHING about Christ.....so what is Christmas all about?
It has become a winter holiday and nothing more. I refuse to let that happen in my life.
I choose to keep CHRIST in Christmas! Here is something I wrote nearly 6 years ago:

My Reflections On Christmas
As I think about Christmas, I have to reflect on what the meaning of Christmas is....the birth of a Savior for this world of sin. I know, we don't like to hear the word 'sin' as it makes us very uncomfortable, just like the words 'Satan' and 'hell' make us uncomfortable. But regardless of whether we choose to believe or not, that does not change the reality of them.

I remember the Christmas when my first grandchild, Andrew was 2 years old. I was downtown with him and we were in a jewelry story. Santa Clause came into the store; and Andrew's mouth fell open, his eyes got big and he just stared in awe at Santa. Well, Santa was in a hurry and was going to just walk by this precious baby without acknowledging him, but this 'Nana' was having none of it. If he couldn't stand the heat, he'd better take off the suit! So, I proceeded to say, "Hi Santa!" with a big foolish grin on my face!!! "This is Andrew, and he's never met you before!"

What could he do??? He stopped, bent over and shook Andrew's hand and talked with him for a minute. I will NEVER forget the look on Andrew's face...... What joy, and amazement, and awe..... This was a person he had been hearing about for a long time....stories had been told about him, and songs sung about him....and here "HE" was in person.

What a thrill for me to share that moment with that sweet precious baby. And then I began to apply this little 'lesson in a minute' to my own life, and I thought about the REASON FOR THE SEASON...the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! We have heard about Him, and read stories about Him, and sang songs about Him...but do we TRULY believe in Him??? What will it be like when we finally see Him in person, face to face? Will He be someone we already 'know' from the times we have chosen to spend with Him? Or will He be a stranger to us? Will we stand in front of him with our eyes filled with amazement, and adoration and awe, as Andrew did when he saw Santa for the first time; or will we stand before him with our eyes downcast, filled with fear, and guilt and shame? We can choose this day to love Him and serve Him, because He is worthy to be loved and served.

A Dreary Tuesday

Here are some pictures of a few more of the bags that I have ready for the bazaar. I haven't taken a picture of any of the bags that I worked on today yet.

Today is a cold, windy, dreary day. We have a little snow, but not as much as the weatherman predicted. I felted the bag that I completed knitting last night, and then sewed the pockets in some of the others that were waiting to be completed. I think I now have 28 bags ready for the bazaar. :)

Tonight is my online ladies bible study, so I won't be able to start another bag until tomorrow sometime, probably. Oooops.....tomorrow is Terry's birthday, so I probably won't get another bag started until Thursday, depending on my schedule. I also have 3-in-1 at church tomorrow. I do crafts for the 2nd graders. We are going to make oreo turkeys. :)

Just a few of my felted bags . . . . .

Here is just a few of my felted bags.
I am hoping they sell at the bazaar on the
25th and 26th of November. :)
I love using my felted bag! It's so soft,
and not scratchy at all.

OK....this is all from me for today.

My First Felted Bag After Felting

Here is what the first bag looks like after felting.
I was so excited when I took it out of the washer!
I later added an inside pocket to it with leftover yarn
for small things such as keys etc. I now add pockets to all the bags I make, and I also put a double bottom in them for extra strength and support.

My First Felted Bag Before Felting

This is my first bag before felting. I LOVE making these bags!

There is such a sense of mystery when you make one because you're never sure what it will felt up like. If you leave it in the washer too long, it will felt up to be a barbi doll bag (lol) and if you don't felt it enough all of your stitches show. If your yarn is a white colored yarn it may take forever to felt, and each weight of yarn makes a difference too.

Here I Am! I Finally Created A Blog!

I've read other people's blogs for so long that I finally decided to create my own. I don't have any idea where this will go, but as of now I'm going to use it for my knitting projects. I will try to be faithful in posting pictures of my projects as I make them. :) Right now I'm busy trying to get ready for the yearly Christmas Bazaar that is held here the day after Thanksgiving. I have several felted bags ready, and would like to have a couple more completed before then, so that's what I'm concentrating on right now.

My name is Wilma. I am a Christian, and have been since 1967. I have been married to Terry for 40 years...it will be 41 in February. YIKES! Where did the time go? We have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren.......and we are owned by a spoiled rotten yorkie named Sassy. :) We live in southeastern Montana on a small 'mini-farm' where we have some cows, horses and chickens.

I made my first felted bag in July, and I have been knitting bags ever since. I am addicted to felting. After the holidays, I am going to branch out and make felted baskets and bowls etc, but right now I'm concentrating on the bazaar and after that, Christmas gifts.
